Shadow of the Day Acoustic

Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands. Right now their big single on the radio is called “Shadow of the Day.” I can across this video below when I was browsing YouTube’s Daily most viewed videos on my iPhone. A band by the name of Boyce Avenue does covers for famous songs and they even have a few of their own. Their videos on Youtube have over a million views so you know they’re getting popular.

Anyways, they do a badass cover of Linkin Parks “Shadow of the Day”, but it’s done in acoustic.  I just wanted to share this with everyone…plus these guys all go to or went to University of Florida (my college), so I really gotta help support them.

Cities of the Underworld

If I’m not watching sports or Family Guy, then odds are my TV is on the History Channel. I’ve finally decided to sit down and watch this show called “Cities of the Underworld,” and I’m very glad I did. I really like this show. Here’s a little synopsis from the History Channel’s website.

In major cities all around the world today, skyscrapers loom overhead, taxis honk their horns and street vendors peddle their wares. But below lays city upon city - each with its fascinating and unknown history. CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD explores these layers, which are often hundreds of feet deep, to examine a city’s ancient cisterns, dank dungeons, eerie tombs, clandestine hideouts, and even underground shipwrecks that have been lost for hundreds of years. How did (and do) engineers build layer upon layer up to today’s city streets? CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD reveals the technological marvels that allowed the construction of one city upon another - literally.

The only episode I’ve seen was last week when they explored the tunnels in underground Vietnam. It was so freaking cool. I knew that the Viet Cong used tunnels underground, but had no idea they were so elaborate and stretched for miles and miles. Tonight at 11:00, they’ll be exploring caves of Budapest where cavemen used to live. If you get the history channel you really need to check this show out.

Here’s a youtube video promo for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about.

Movies I Want To See

It’s Friday, so let’s have some video fun. Some of you know I am a sucker for a good movie. I keep seeing trailers for some awesome titles coming out. I thought it would be fun to share with you 4 movies I’m looking forward to seeing in the next few months and into early 2008. Each trailer is only like 2 minutes.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

I Am Legend

Untitled movie by JJ Abrams

10,000 BC

Of course there are others, like Beowulf, but I didn’t want to load up a post full of Youtube Videos.

Remembering 9/11

Today is the 6th anniversary of the al-Qaeda attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York City.

It doesn’t feel like 6 years. I can still vividly remember where I was when I heard the news. I was a freshman at UF, living in the dorms. I had just woke up for Calculus 2 class and was flipping the channels for ESPN. However, every channel on the TV was fixated on the attacks, which at this point they just thought a plane accidently flew into the building. As we’re watching, we see the second plane fly into the second tower and all of a sudden the mood changes and Americans realize their being attacked on their own soil.

Today is not a Federal Holiday like. We still go to work and school. Offices aren’t closed. Americans just like to take this day to show their patriotism. You’ll see more American flags flying. You’ll see more red, white, and blue. You’ll hear a lot of people showing their support for our troops. One of my best friends is in Iraq fighting right now. So I’ll take this moment to say how proud I am of him and appreciate him putting his life on the line everyday so people back home don’t have to.

I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this video before, but just in case you missed it, I feel like this is a must watch Youtube video. Viewer Discretion is advised.

Battle at Kruger

I’m very busy today and didn’t have time to write up a post. I also have a golf outing at work, so my hours at the PC are limited today.

But don’t worry. I’ve got an amazing video for you to watch. Just try to watch the whole thing without fast forwarding!

OJ Simpson Interview Video

This video is outrageous. There’s nothing funny about the two victims of the OJ Simpson murder case, but I can’t believe OJ actually sat down for an interview with live callers.
