Datadial

There often comes a time when webmasters can not handle the workload they’ve brought upon themselves. Webmasters and businesses are then forced to call upon a company to do some of the work for you. Today I wanted to profile a company out of London, England called Datadial that offers a variety of services from SEO to hosting.

Datadial has been around since 1998 and has a team of designers, developers, online marketers, technicians and programmers have helped businesses of all sizes to succeed online. One of their specializations is Email Marketing. Their services allow you to send bulk emails to all those lists you’ve created. So many bloggers and webmasters collect emails but never do anything with them. Datadial will let you create, send and track customized emails to your lists.

Maybe you have an e-commerce site and your sales have been declining? Some webmasters may not have time to do what’s needed to get sales back up. A company like Datadial can do all the Internet Marketing for you. They’ll take a look at your current sale stats and then create budgets and plans to help boost sales.

One area of online business that I have sought outside help on many times in the past is Search Engine Optimisation. To me, it’s very boring and time consuming. I’d much rather pay someone to do the work for me, and make sure it’s done right. SEO has huge benefits. It will get you high rankings in search engines which in turn brings in free traffic! You can’t beat that.

Small Sites, Big Money Review

My buddy Matt Coddington just finished writing an ebook called Small Sites, Big Money. It’s a 31 page ebook based off one of his most popular posts on Net Business Blog about how to build a niche mini site. Matt no longer owns Net Business Blog, but he’s taken the ideas from that single post and compounded on them exponentially to build a great book.

The ebook is not free, but here’s a sampling of what you can get for only $40. And don’t tell me $40 is a lot… I know you’ve probably spent double that buying high promise ebooks on DigitalPoint.

Small Sites, Big Money is broken down into 7 ‘chapters’.

  • Introduction
  • Finding & Researching a Niche
  • Monetization
  • Website Development
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Conclusion
  • Additional Resources

The Finding & Researching chapter of the ebook is the most expansive. Matt gives you step by step ways to determine what niche is right for you and how to evaluate competition. He doesn’t just say “pick something you enjoy.” Matt will show you how to use online tools and research methods to find an undervalued niche with a long lifespan.

Another section I enjoyed in this ebook is the Monetization chapter. Matt shows you ways to monetize your niche mini site that you haven’t thought of before. It’s not about just slapping Adsense and Commission Junction ads on it. There are deeper ways to monetize a niche mini site that bring in way more revenue then the popular ad networks you know. But I’m not going to tell you what they are, if you want to find out you’ll have the buy the book.

All-in-all, Small Sites, Big Money is a great ebook for someone trying to break into the ‘make money online’ business, as well as someone trying to switch things up. I know I’ve gotten into a rut before, where you just get bored of making the same old websites. Niche mini sites are something totally different. You can tell Matt put a lot of time and effort into writing this book. And I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Free Web Hosting

From time to time, I’m looking for some free hosting accounts. I like to test websites on them to make sure everything’s ok before I move the sites to one of my dedicateds. You don’t ever want to clog up your dedicated servers with a ton of small websites that you may not keep. So I’m glad my buddy just launched a new Free Web Host.

It’s not just free web hosting for test sites, they offer a complete package that will support some pretty big sites. Check out what you get with your free account:

  • 5 GB Web Space
  • 20 GB Bandwith
  • MySQL Databases
  • CPanel
  • 1 Domain Access
  • No Setup Fees
  • No Adds
  • 24/7 Free Support

It’s hard to find all of that on a $25/month vps plan, let alone a free web host. One of the best things about My5GB Free Hosting is that they don’t put ads all over your webpages. The catch with so many free hosts is that they litter your webpage with pop-ups and annoying ads. My5GB doesn’t do that. You won’t ever see them put an ad on your website.

My5GB.com also offers several different means of support, including: Live chat with our support department, E-mail support, Ticket system, and a Support Forum. I’ve talked to their support in a live chat a couple of times just to test them out and they’ve always been helpful and committed.

Check out what other bloggers are saying out My5GB:

“Never knew the grass from free web hosts was that green! My cows gave the most wonderful milk ever! Hooray for the My5GB Team!” - John Cow

“My5GB.com hosting exceeded my expectations. Their service, and reliability proves they are the best free hosting choice, hands down. Hats off to the My5GB.com Team!” - Nate Whitehill

For anyone looking to get started in an internet business, I recommend checking My5GB out. You don’t need to spend a ton of money on hosting when you’re just getting started. Get some free hosting and you won’t be disappointed. If you still have questions about what My5GB has to offer, they have a complete FAQs page that will answer all your questions.

ADBRITE PISSES ME OFF!!!!

I have a strange feeling that Adbrite is hurting big time and they are about to go under. No ad company pisses me off more than Adbrite. Not only do they pay net 60, but they don’t even have direct deposit or Paypal payments. They mail you a freaking check still.

So today is February 8th and I still haven’t got my adbrite check from NOVEMBER! I check Digitalpoint and everyone else is in the same boat. It appears Adbrite just lumped together November and December earnings into one big payment that will be processed on March 3rd. WTF ADBRITE!!!! Thanks for telling me! I don’t make a ton on Adbrite, but it is a couple hundred a month and I count on that money to pay for some bills and stuff. Now I’m going with out it for a month and I had to withdraw money from my savings account just to cover my ass this month. What a shitty company. How do you not tell your publishers that you won’t be paying them this month?

How about one more Adbrite complaint. They haven’t been displaying ads on peoples websites for weeks! It just shows “powered by adbrite” where the ads normally are. Everyone on DP is complaining about this. Earnings have been shot to hell too because they aren’t showing ads. Ads will come up for a minute, then go right back down.

And not only is Adbrite not paying us November’s earnings and stopped showing ads… I still never got my 1099-Misc from them. I mean holy shit! Adbrite is the most irresponsible company I have ever seen.

All this leads me to believe Adbrite is getting ready to fold. This is the worst ad company. They have shitty management and terrible ads. I’m going to call them on my lunch break, even though I’m sure I won’t get to talk to a human, and then am calling the better business bureau to file a complaint.

If any of you out there share my frustration about Adbrite, let me know!

Btw, I’m looking for a replacement right now.

TNX.net Review

TNX.net is a new text-link broker that helps publishers and advertisers buy and sell links. TNX is a relatively new player in the text-link game, but they have seen some tremendous growth in the past few months, as seen by their Alexa Rank (about 10,000). On my account dashboard I can see that they currently have 42,000 users and over 33,000,000 links in their system.

In today’s internet, publishers have to be very careful about who they link to. Some text link companies simply provide you with a piece of code to slap on your website, and you have no choice over what text links appear on your site. This is not good business. Not only can your site look unprofessional with unrelated links on it, but you can also be penalized by big search engines. With TNX, webmasters can choose their advertisers themselves, placing only links that are relevant to every page of their sites.

For example, if you run a website about Dogs and you have two subpages, one for dog food supplies and one for dog clothes… you can pick different links to appear on your pages instead of have the same links appear sitewide. You can go into the TNX system and select a dog food advertiser for your dog food page, and you can select a dog clothes advertising link for your dog clothes page. The more relevant your links, the better your site will look through the eyes of Google.

TNX isn’t just for publishers, they also have a very extensive section for advertisers. The main advantage for advertisers is the price of links, it is very reasonable and the ability to promote hundreds of keywords with just few clicks. Prices of links are the lowest on the market. For as low as $11 a month you may get up to 10,000 static links to your website.

Signing Up
Signing up with TNX is a breeze. It took me under a minute to submit my username, password and email. Unlike other companies, TNX eliminates the need for multiple accounts. Your one account will control the publishing, advertising, and affiliate aspects of the system.

While creating an account is an instant process, submitting a website to TNX isn’t. You must wait 1-3 days in order for your website to be manually reviewed by TNX team.

Once you are signed up, you will have a very easy to use dashboard to control everything (pictured below).

Link Generator Tool
TNX offers a free tool for advertisers to make paid links look natural for Google. This is an awesome tool that generate hundreds of different anchors with a click of a button. Check out a screenshot of it:

Point System
TNX operates on a Point System, instead of using actual dollars. Advertisers can purchase TNX Points and in return use those points to buy text-links on participating websites. When a link is purchased, the publisher will be paid in TNX Points, which can then be either recycled in the system to purchase more links or cashed out.

Payouts
Currently TNX will buyout your tnx-points at the rate of $0.73 per 1000pts. TNX also set a maximum of 300,000 pts./day transferred, but not more than 50% (daily limit) of all points on the account. That comes to a maximum of $200+ you can withdrawl on a daily basis. Payments are made on a monthly basis and distributed via check, Paypal, or bank wire.

Affiliate Program
While you’re making money selling text-links, you can also earn commissions through the TNX Affiliate Program. When you bring a new webmaster to the system, you will receive 13.3% of all “TNX-points”, he/she will earn in the future (a reward for referring an advertiser is also available). Interest is paid for the lifetime of the account.

Support
TNX has a couple different methods of support. They have a Live Chat and a Support Forum with over 10,000 posts. I could not find a contact email address or phone number.

TNX Special Offer:
Due to the recent launch of TNX, they are giving away up to 5,000 points that you can use to buy links from up to 5,000 websites. You can read more about their special offer here.

Summary:
TNX is a great alternative to other text link companies. The best feature they have is the ability to choose which links are displayed on your website and individual pages, rather than having the same sitewide links on all your pages. If you’re looking for a safe and effective way to monetize your site, you really need to check out TNX.net
