State of the Union Part I
I’m not the President of the United States, but I am the President of my small network of sites. I haven’t done this in awhile, so I wanted to just run down some of my website and give everyone an update on how things are going, sort of a State of the Union Address that the President makes every year.
This will be a two part post since I have quite a few websites I want to talk about. Doing it all in one post would be too much to read, so be sure to check back tomorrow for part II.
Pimp Myspace
One of my longest running myspace resource websites. Took a big hit by Google five months ago and has still yet to claim back into the rankings. I still add new content to it every now and then to keep things going in case one day it returns back to glory. The site is very consistent right now with traffic and earnings. I have no plans of selling it.
Myspace Tweaks
Another myspace codes site I owned that suffered from the infamous Google murder. I also update this site often with new content and have recently tweaked with the page titles in hopes it helps bring back some Google rankings. This site is also consistent with traffic and revenue. A redesign may be in the future if the rankings come back.
Fight Song Lyrics
This is as automatic as a site can come. I’m talking absolutely no maintenance. I haven’t updated this site in 2 years or more. It’s a great site for people to check out the lyrics to their favorite fight songs. I think it’s my oldest site now, running on 3+ years. It’s very consistent and has always been there for me. During football season it’s a great earner. I have no plans to redesign or sell this site.
Gator Envy
I see big things for Gator Envy in the future. Right now the forum is a little slow (maybe only 15-20 members online a day), but that’s because football season is over and the Gators didn’t make the NCAA Tourney. During football season last year it averaged 30+ members online a day and probably 500 uniques/day. Once Vbulletin 3.7 goes gold, I will be upgrade my current vb 3.6.4 to 3.7. I’ll also be changing the forum to a fluid width, which will allow me to place side columns on the forum home (this means more ad spots). There will always be Gator fans, so I really don’t have any plans to sell this site. I’m going to keep marketing it (it’s almost on page 1 for “florida gators“) and let it mature over the years. By the end of 2008, I want to have 1200-1300 members and 50,000 posts.
Mass Effect Forum
This forum has really started picking up over the last two or three months. Traffic is steady and memberships are on the rise. I have a great moderator and no problem members. The forum currently averages around 20 members online per day. Right now there are 300+ members and 6,000 posts. I really wouldn’t be surprised if this forum overtakes Gator Envy in popularity by year’s end. Mass Effect is a big time game and is part of a trilogy, so that means this site will be popular for at least 4 more years… maybe more. The only problem I’m having with it is I can’t seem to figure out how to make money off it. It makes a few bucks a month in Adsense and that’s it. The audience is mostly teenagers who are web savvy… so they don’t click ads. Over the summer I want to get a custom design for the site and upgrade to Vb 3.7.
That’s it for today. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the State of the Union Part II. If you want to see my entire network of sites, look in the sidebar.

Good to hear things are going good David
Looking forward to part 2
