Becoming a Dot Com Mogul is no easy task. A lot of internet entrepreneurs (anyone who makes money online in my opinion) aspire to one day achieve Mogul status. What does it take to earn the title of Dot Com Mogul? Stephen Fung provided us with a dot com mogul checklist. Let’s see how I stack up.

1. Your income must come about as a result of the money you make from the Internet - NOCHECK! I earn most of my money from my 40 hr/wk job, and currently only make money online as a part time hobby.

2. The minimum internet income level is $10,000 a month (you cannot add income from other sources to hit this $10K level) - NOCHECK! I’m not even close!

3. You have no jobs outside of the internet - NOCHECK! I have a full-time job.

4. You have a personal blog with your name as the domain name - CHECK! My first sign of success…

5. Your blog must be updated at least once per week - CHECK! I’m pretty good about updating my blog on a daily basis … just not on weekends.

6. A Google search of your name must be at the #1 spot - CHECK!

7. You must be willing to help dot com mogul wannabes - CHECK! I get messages on MSN all the time from people looking for help. Hit me up on my contact page if you have any questions.

8. Give time, money, or anything of value to a charitable cause each month. - CHECK! I can’t afford a lot of money, but I do usually give a few bucks here and there to the human society at the local pet stores and when stores are running Miracle Network campaigns.

9. Personally help at least one person establish their online presence via a blog or website or help them enhance one they already have every month. - SEMICHECK! I haven’t really taken 1 person under my wing, but like #7 says, I do give out help and advice whenever anyone needs it.

Well, I’m only 3 parts away from reaching Dot Com Mogul status. Unfortunately for me, the 3 I’m missing are the most important. Especially that $10,000/month deal.

I’ve got a lot of work to do before I can put myself on the same level as John and Stephen, but little by little, I’ll keep chopping away.
