Planet Earth
Did anyone watch Planet Earth last night on Discovery? I saw a preview for the series at the movie theater like a month ago and circled yesterday’s date on my calendar. I’m not a hippy or anything, but nature shows and Shark Week always interest me.
Last night they showed three episodes, each one hour long.
1. From Pole to Pole - The first episode illustrates a ‘journey’ around the globe and reveals the effect of gradual climatic change and seasonal transitions en route. Highlights were a great white shark leaping out of the water and snagged a seal in it’s jaws, and a wild pack of dogs hunting impalas in Africa.
2. Mountains - This episode was my favorite. They show Ethiopia’s Erta Ale, the longest continually erupting volcano — for over 100 years and then move to glaciers in the Himalayas. The best part of this episode was the first ever video capture of the rare snow leopard. They actually filmed it racing down a steep mountain after a ram or goat-like animal. I was completely floored when I saw how fast the snow leopard could fly down the mountain without losing a step.
3. Ocean Deep - This episode started out filming the great whale shark - the largest fish in the world. There was amazing footage of the ocean surface all the way to the ocean floor miles below. There are some weird sea creatures in the abyss. Animals we’ve never seen before. One in particular was the vampire squid. It has bioluminescent eyes that glow like a vampire.
I’m not sure if they are going to be showing 3 episodes every Sunday night, or if last night was just special because it was the premier. I don’t care if you hate nature, you have to watch this show. They have been filming it for over 5 years. That’s a long time to film a TV series! You get to see views of Earth that you never knew existed. You get to see animals and how they act in the wild.
It really opens your eyes to what we have here on Earth and why we need to save our planet.

One does not have to be a hotshot in stock brokerage to know about investment. People in online trading know quite a lot about it. They know the difference between a real emergency, and that exactly when is their mastercard supposed to come out. This is the reason why they are never caught in refinance mortgage deals or seen taking out a payday loan.

The snow leopard didn’t lose a step, but it did push its prey right off the cliff
