Young Entrepreneurs

This blog post is proudly sponsored by:
Internet Business Plan - How to Launch Your Next Website

I like to call myself an entrepreneur, even though I don’t have an official business license, or any patented product, or real estate investments. I call myself an entrepreneur because I have the drive to succeed. The drive to create something on my own. My ultimate goal is not to create a dot com empire. Not anymore. I am using websites to fuel my other dreams. To plant a seed if you will.

I can see myself owning websites years from now, but in the end, I want to do something bigger. ‘What’s bigger than the internet?’ you say? Well, I don’t know right now. I’m still young and still searching for my calling.

I didn’t really have a topic to write about this afternoon, so I just wanted to take some time to tell everyone about a website/forum for young entrepreneur’s like you and me. Oddly enough, the website is called Young Entrepreneurs.

I’m not as active on the forum anymore, but I still visit from time to time. There you will find young men and women who are searching for a way to free themselves from the rat race. They strive for something more than what is taught in our public schools. They have General Business forums, E-Commerce forums, and Business Opportunity forums.

YE is not paying me for this review. They probably have enough money to buy an add in a magazine. I just think it’s a great site. They have thousands of members and thousands of posts all from people like you and me.

Making Money with Prosper.com

Resale Rights Products - Ready for you to sell.

Entrepreneurs are always on the lookout for new opportunities to make money. Whether its putting advertisements on a website or selling affiliate products, we want to increase our earnings. Well, have you ever thought about making money online through a different avenue?

I’ve known about Prosper for awhile now. I read about it in magazines and news articles, but never took the time to sign up and participate in it. For those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, Prosper is “the online marketplace for people to people lending”. What that means is any individual can borrow or lend money to other people. Lenders bid on how much they will lend and at what rates they are willing to offer. For a quick look at what it means to be a Prosper lender, click here.

People on prosper are looking for money for all sorts of things. Some people need money to purchase an automobile, finance a business, start a rock band, pay back a family member, purchase a wheelchair.. you name it. Thousands of people are looking for money. If someone is looking for $2,000 to pay for college, and you only have $500 to lend, you can put in that portion of the money. You don’t have to give someone the whole amount. While browsing the loans out there, people put in $50 all over the place.

As a ‘lender’ they use actually means ‘loan purchaser’, so you don’t have to be licensed to give money. Prosper.com takes all the money from the lenders and combines it into a loan that they distribute to the person.

Lending money to someone at 20% isn’t free money. There are risks involved, such as, the borrower not paying the loan. That would suck if someone didn’t pay you back right? That’s why Prosper suggests you diversify. Instead of putting all your money into one person, spread it out over 10 people or more.

I took the first step today and signed up with Prosper. I am interested to see if you can make decent money by lending it out to people. I know a lot of research has to go into who you are investing. I think that Prosper provides you their credit information and other variables. If I actually lend someone money, I will start out with a low amount like $50-100 just to see what it’s all about.

If anyone reading this actively lends people money on Prosper, leave me a comment with your experiences. I’d love to know it you can make some extra money doing this.

Finding Ideas from IGN

Share The Money With Us - Creating and growing a successful blog

A comment I left in my post last night gave me an idea for a post. Finding ideas for websites can be quite daunting at times. It seems like everything is always taken. It seems like someone always beats you to the punch. A few weeks ago I mentioned ways to find ideas from Digg . You can watch the unpublished articles section and refresh it every minute to find the latest news. Today I’m going to talk to you about a different way to find ideas.

IGN is one of the largest, if not the largest, video game resource site on the web. It’s owned by the big man himself, Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp. IGN provides everything from video game reviews, screenshots, trailers, cheats, previews, forums… you name it. And it’s not just a resource for current games, you can find information on games coming out 2-3 years from now.

Some of the biggest forums on the web are video game related. It’s a huge niche with a massive following. Games like Halo, World of Warcraft, Everquest, Zelda, Guild Wars, and Unreal Tournament all have fan sites. Halo 3 has a fan site/forum with nearly 40,000 members and the game won’t be out for almost a year from now. There’s no hiding the potential of a gaming site.

The tip I’m going to share with you today is to find an upcoming video game and build a fan site / community before anyone else does. If you can become an authority site for a video game before anyone else, there is potential to make thousands of dollars. So how do you find out what games are coming out? First, go to IGN.com. Second, select a platform (PC, PS3, XBOX360) on the left sidebar. Finally, click Release Dates on the left sidebar. Here you will be given a timeline of all the games set to come out for your selected platform. Scroll down a couple months and find a game that looks interesting. Google it and do some research to see if any fan sites already exist. If you find one that doesn’t have a lot of information on it, then that might be a good game/niche to get into.

Finding information on a game coming out a year from now might be difficult, but if you subscribe to the Google News feed for your search terms, you can always stay up to date with the latest news.

Take a look at these sites and see the potential that is out there if you get in on it early. These are all fan sites owned by people like you and me. They aren’t official corportation sites.

So How is Mass Effect Doing?

This blog post is proudly sponsored by:
Internet Home Based Business - Create An Online Income

I have a known bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them… or at least not taking them to the next level. I’m not the only web entrepreneur (can we even call ourselves entrepreneur’s if we don’t finish a project?) who has this horrible habit.

A few weeks ago I posted about my latest project on the upcoming XBOX 360 game, Mass Effect. For those of who you haven’t read that post, I’ll give you the two line Cliffs. I started a forum powered by vbulletin. The site aims to be a total resource for the game Mass Effect, a futuristic RPG that is supposed to revolutionize the way RPGs are played.

So what steps have I done to get this site going? Well for starters, I had to get posts on there. The first step I took was to make a deal with a paid posting company. I traded some sponsored blog post links for a paid posting package from my buddy Andreas Bard. His people do an excellent job, so I highly recommend contacting him if your forum needs a boost. After that, I created a Namepros Incentive thread. I offered $10NP to anyone who registered an posted once on my forum. I think around 10 people signed up for that offer.

So far the site has around 200 posts. It’s not a lot by any means. Getting content for a game that doesn’t come out for months is hard. But now that I have some posts to work with, it will be much easier getting news for the homepage. I also added 8 screenshots to the screenshot page and there are 5 videos of the game posted.

Currently, I need to work on finding some reviews for the game and getting some links. I’ll start my link building process by approaching owners of xbox 360 game fan sites. If I can’t get a lot of links that way, I’ll make a post on digitalpoint asking for link exchanges.

I have still yet to add all the mods, such as the arcade, vbplaza, and visitors in the last 24 hours. It’s a growing process and I do find it hard to work on this project for some reason. I think if the game were out and I was playing it, then creating content would be easier.

Also my site is ranked #2 for ‘mass effect forum’. It’s nowhere to be found for the search ‘mass effect’, but that’ll change once I get some links.

If you have any ideas on how to get this site going, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Publishing Unique Content

This post is proudly sponsored by:
Internet Marketing Blog - Know What is Bringing Results

Friday I posted the secret to making money online. What kind of person would I be if I didn’t follow my own advice? It only seemed logical that I start adding new content to the site that makes me the most money, Pimp Myspace. I wish my best earning site wasn’t a Myspace resource site, but what can you do? It makes me about $20/day so it will be hard to top that with another site I have.

The first step I took to adding new content for the site was to purchase it myself. I do not recommend purchasing content for myspace sites, or any sites really. I would much rather do it myself so I know it is exactly what I want, plus I don’t have the money to throw around for new content. However, I have no idea how to make Myspace layouts or glitters or anything else. I know there a plenty of tutorials on how to make your own layouts, but between work and the fact that I don’t even have Photoshop, I elected to buy my first batch.

I purchased 44 comic layouts. They came with a contact table, background, and network table. Everything you need for a layout. So far I have only uploaded Batman, Beast, and Captain America. I plan on adding one or two characters a day. By spreading out my new content over a week’s time, it will appear to visitors (and Google) that I add a lot of content to the site.

The next step I took to add new content to my Myspace resource site was to add a new tutorial. How to add Youtube Videos to your Profile. I wrote this one myself, so hopefully it appears unique to search engines and I get a higher ranking. To go with the tutorial, I also am going to add a few videos a week to my site and hope that people will use them in their profile. I added a simple linkback to the code, so it will show a link to my site under all the videos.

The tactic of adding new content to get more uniques is already working. I already rank on page one of google for the search terms “batman layouts” and “myspace batman layouts” and page 2 for “batman myspace layout”. It’s only a matter of time before I get indexed with all the characters.

Once I start adding new layouts every week, I am confident I will have a ton more pages indexed result in 1000s of more uniques/day.

Just Got Home

Sorry for not posting today. I was out of town all weekend (and today), celebrating the 3 day weekend! President’s Day is today for those of you not in the United States. Some people work today, and some don’t. It just depends on the company you work for. My company was nice enough to give us the day off, so I took advantage of that and went down to south Florida to visit with my girlfriend’s family.

It’s tough going 3 days without a computer, but it is nice to have that break every now and then. Without a break, you can get addicted to the internet. I was wondering a lot how my sites were doing, how my forums were doing, how my earnings were doing.

My Florida Gators forum slowed down a bit because I wasn’t there. I’m very active on it, so if I’m not there constantly making new posts, then it will slow down. My earnings were still solid, despite me not adding any content or anything.

Hope everyone had a great day. I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule tomorrow.
