Making Money with YPN

About 10 days ago I switched from Adsense to Yahoo Publisher Network. My initial findings were that I would make at least double what I had been making on Adsense for my site Pimp Myspace. A day or two later I thought I was misled about the success of YPN because I had some average days of only $7. So now it’s been 10 days and I feel I have solid data to look at and make my conclusions about YPN.
The average Adsense page impression for the 10 days leading up to the switch was 33,160. Average earnings for those same 10 days was $4.74. In the 10 days after the switch to Yahoo, the average YPN page impressions was 28,000. The reason the ad impressions is lower for YPN is because Yahoo does not have the text link units like Adsense. So I have 1 less ad spot on the website. In the 10 days after the switch to Yahoo, the average earnings was $12.29. That is nearly 3 times as much as Google Adsense.
The picture does not lie. It is clear to see that Yahoo Publisher Network pays out MUCH higher on Myspace sites than Google Adsense does. If I can maintain the $12.29 average on YPN, or even increase it slightly, I will surely have my best contextual advertisement month ever. I am still averaging $3-4/day in Adsense, so I will still get a payout from them.
Once I get to the $100 mark in Adsense, I am thinking about switching all my sites to YPN for a few days to see if they all improve. I would try the expirement now, but I don’t want to leave money sitting in my Adsense account.

How I would love to try YPN out but they do not accept publishers without a US tax id. Thanks for sharing this. though. When they do accept the rest of world into their program, publishers and site visitors will have more choices.
To Lisa,
To get a tax id, all you have to do is go to the IRS website and fill out a form and it will give you one instantly… no problems then. You don’t have to have a business entity, llc or anything…
