In early December I started running Adbrite ads on my Pimp Myspace website. Adbrite is the internet’s ad marketplace. You can buy and sell all types of advertisements on their site. Anything from text links to banners. Some of the internet’s busiest websites are in Adbrite, including Friendster and Alexa.

As a publisher, Adbrite allows you to set up and manage separate zones for your web site. Each zone can be targeted to different keywords that you get to type in. Something unique about Adbrite are the interstitial advertisements they offer. An interstitial ad is a big, full page ad that pops up on your screen after clicking an internal link on a website. It will usually pop up and ask you to download some virus protection software or something similar.

The following is straight from the Adbrite website about how publishers get paid by displaying an interstitial ad.

“You will earn money every time an Active Interstitial runs on your site. Active Interstitials are always in auction mode. This means advertisers bid on how much they are willing to pay, so you don’t need to set any pricing. You will be paid at a rate of 1 cent above the second highest bid. Bidding starts at $0.01 CPV (cost per view).”

In the last 30 days I have no run 1 interstitial ad on Pimp Myspace. Now I know most people just click the “skip this ad” button at the top, but I am curious to see how activating them can increase my Adbrite Revenue.

I’m going to do a short test. Currently, over the last 30 days I was averaging around $0.75 a day from Adbrite. I have just activated the interstitial ads and will be monitoring them over the next 7 days.<

If you’re looking for more revenue options, I suggest trying out Adbrite. You can run them with YPN and Adsense.

Stay Tuned for the results!
