PR Update Finishing
A couple weeks ago I posted that Google had started their PR Update on some of my sites. I had done rather well, earning my first PR6 site ever, Free Myspace Layouts. I sold over $100 in links on that site in a day. Whoever says PR doesn’t matter, must not sell links on Digital Point.
Well, it looks like Google is just now wrapping things up on the rest of the internet. As you can see, my blog has finally updated to Pagerank 4. I’m quite happy with PR4 on my blog. Maybe when I reapply to Text Link Ads I won’t get rejected again. So, how about a quick run down on all of my sites and their new PRs.
- Lithman.net PR0 –> PR4
- FightSongLyrics.com PR4 –> PR4
- Layoutpimps.net PR1 –> PR4
- Freemslayout.com PR0 –> PR6
- Myloginspace.com PR0 –> PR5
- Mylink-space.com PR1 –> PR4
- MVPFlix.com PR0 –> PR3
- JoeMauer.info PR0 –> PR3
- BulletinTrader.com PR0 –> PR3
- RookieSpot.com PR0 –> PR3
- RyanHoward.info PR0 –> PR0
- PhilipRivers.net PR0 –> PR0
- Tracy-McGrady.net PR0 –> PR0
- MaskedMusic.com PR0 –> PR0
- GatorEnvy.com PR0 –> PR0
So as you can see I did really well this update. I had a bunch of sites go from 0 to something. The sites that stayed at 0 are because they are still too new. I think the update won’t affect most of my sites. One other site I’m hoping to cash in on is my Myspace Directory. Now that it is PR4 with PR3 and higher sub pages, hopefully I can sell some spots on it. I think I’ll post an advertisement on DP and see if I can make some sales.
I might also be able to sell some link spots on Myspace Login. Having a PR5 should get me at least $5-10/mo per link. If no one will buy anything then I can atleast get some solid link exchanges and start driving traffic to that site, and ultimately make some money.

Nice progress David. I always like following your progress and as a consequence, I get ideas about how I would do things with your network. So I just thought I would throw this out there, since my way of thinking is always to leverage sites to gain productivity with a minimum of exerertion.
I was thinking about Rookie Spot, and you might need to build it up a bit more before you can do this… Anyway, I’m sure new blogs on specific rookies will be started all the time. What better way for a new rookie blog to gain a link than to write an article for you. Seek out the new rookie blogs and solicit the blogger if they would like to submit a well written and unique guest article about that rookie. They get a highly relevant link back and you get some great unique content. You might even put up a little blurb about taking on guest articles from blogs about a single rookie, etc.
Obviously the more weight that Rookie Spot gains in readership and PR, the more takers you’ll have. Just thought I’d throw it out there as a way to lighten the load. I also have the feeling this could gain you more backlinks as well since bloggers in general like to talk about what’s going on with their blogs. I’m sure some would mention that they have a guest article on your blog.
I know this sort of thing can be done with any blog, but I thought it would be pretty easy to find and hit up new rookie blogs in particular.
Thanks Marc, you always have the best ideas. I would love to integrate that into my site, and with PR now, I think it might work!
Congrats on the PR6. Those seem to be more difficult to get with every update. If it stays PR6 with the next update you have a winner at your hand. Be careful with not selling too many links at a time, to keep Google happy.

congatulations david. I have been reading your blog for a while and I have noticed you are making some nice progress, with your pr ranking you jumped up a few more readers on the feed too.
very nice
Nick - ya I did notice.. I’ve been hovering around 7 readers and right now it’s showing 11.
[...] Well, Its been a while since the last PR update, I think almost 3 months. Im not really sure, im just going off of one of David Lithman’s posts in which he gave updates on what his sites did. http://www.lithman.net/2007/01/pr-update-finishing/ And the date of that post is January 25. So, if they like to do them quarterly which is what I have always heard that Google “roughly” does then the next should be coming around. [...]
