Finally Sold the Proxy

Well I was finally able to sell Myspace Bypass. A great guy from Canada bought it from me off Sitepoint for a BIN of only $600. I say only, because $600 is like 4 months revenue. I initially thought I would get like $800 at least, but I guess I overestimated the market for proxy sites. They are a tough sale. But I am glad it is done and over with. Now I can lose the headache and move on to something new.

A New Forum?

That’s right. I’m moving into the forum pool again with a new niche forum that can hopefully establish itself as the first of its kind. Well, maybe not the first, but the first successful one anyways. The only thing tough about this one is that I have no idea about the topic it will cover. Some people shy away from paid posting, but I might have to plurge on 2 paid posting companies to get things rolling. There’s no way I can come up with topics on my own.

I added all the forums to the portal, and am getting a header designed today or tomorrow. I have a few mods to install, and then it will be ready to launch. Hopefully by the end of the week. I’ll let you know!

What’s Next?

So what’s next on my list? Well after I finish getting the forum set up, I am going to get a blog set up that I have been meaning to get started. It’s a high paying keyword, so I’m anxious to get it going. I also have been interested in ecommerce as of late. I really want to diversify by opening a store of some sort. I recently applied to mlb.com affiliate program to sell merchandise on Joe Mauer and Ryan Howard. I think I can generate a few sales a month from it and earn some extra change.

I’m not sure what type of store I would open, but I have been leaning towards selling an ebook. I am very interested in writing my own ebook. It’s a niche with a lot of information already, but I have some knowledge about the topic that no one else has cared to explain. I’m very excited about it, I just have to find them time to write an ebook.

I’ll have more on that tomorrow.

In other news, traffic on my two baseball sites has been down lately… down a lot actually. But that can be expected since baseball season is over. I can’t wait until spring training, if only I can hold onto these sites till then!

My First Interview

Normally I don’t post more than one time a day, but this is something I just had to share. How exciting! My first interview.

I did an interview with Buck Being Normal, a site a friend has set up to give a light hearted insight in to those people who earn money online. So, if you want to learn more about me then go read!

It’s a pretty cool idea for a site. I know a lot of people are always interested in what drives internet entrepreneurs and how they have built success. They’re interviewing full-time and part-time (me) people earning an income online. It should be a great source for inspiration as well.

Just Another Manic Monday

ohhhh o ohhhh… wish it were Sunday… cause that’s my funday ohhh o ohhhh

Ok, I’m not going to sing anymore Manic Monday for you. If you want to hear the rest of the song, you can download it. It’s time to start off my Monday blog post with a typical “I hate Mondays”. There’s nothing good about ending a weekend to wake up at 7:00 AM and head into work in the cubicle world. That should be enough complaining for now…

Selling Myspace Bypass

Yes you read that right. I am selling Myspace Bypass. You can veiw the sale here. I’ve pretty much determined I want to clean up my act. And that means getting rid of proxy sites. Its been an amazing money earner for me for the past 2 months, but it’s also been a huge headache for the past 2 months. The traffic grew everyday and the earnings still stayed steady. Theres no doubt that after this sale my earnings will drop back below $10/day on adsense.

However, I am going to pump every single dollar of this sale into another site. I will likely try to purchase a site making the same $ amount as Myspace Bypass, just not a proxy site. I hope to get this sale finished by tonight. I’ll let you know when it ends.

Dog Directory

I purchased a domain this morning. Doddydir dot com. There are tons of pet directories out there right now, but I’m going to add another one. The domain just seemed too good to me not to register it. I’ll probably run phpld 3.0 on it. I doubt I’ll get a custom design, but a custom header logo is not out of the question. I will keep you updated on when I get this launched.

In Game Flix

In Game Flix (aka Gaming Videos) is going well so far. I’ve found two link exchanges this morning on Digitalpoint, and am looking to get another 15 more. I love adding videos to this site. You can’t find better content for a website than video game movies, that is unless you hate video games :-/

New Header

Anyone object to the beachy header I added to my blog? I couldn’t think of something the portrays me, so I put up a picture of paradise. I didn’t want my face to be the first thing someone sees on my site. Soon enough I’ll add pictures of my apartment and my life.

Launching In-Game Flix

In a previous post, I mentioned I purchased 3 domain names from a Godaddy loophole. Well, I am proud to launch the first of them, In Game Flix. This site is a spinoff of MVP Flix, in that it is a daily blog that displays video game movies. Most of the videos are of current games, but I will reach into the vault and pull out some of Contra and Tecmo Superbowl videos if I find them.

I am going to try and steer away from posting produced game trailers, and aim for homemade movies. Actual In Game footage of a guild vs guild battle in Guild Wars, or a high intense race from Project Gotham Racing. Some of the videos will be funny clips of people dancing or singing, others will be intense battles. There are many ways I can go with this.

I have installed all the necessary plugins, and am ready to get this site off the ground. It should get indexed in Google within a two or three days. My sites are always listed very quickly. After that, I will link exchange with any video game/arcade website I can find. The more links the better. I don’t care about PR right now, I just need traffic. After I have found maybe 15-20 links, I will look into purchasing some links from PR4+ sites.

I am hoping this site takes off as fast as MVP Flix has. MVP has been averaging close to 200 uniques/day and is quickly becoming one of my top sites. Not to mention I LOVE working on these two sites. Watching clips on sports and video games is actually fun!

So don’t waste any time! Go check it out, and let me know what you think. Once again, it’s ingameflix.com.

Deal of a Lifetime?

Deal of a Lifetime?
No I didn’t find a deal of a lifetime, but someone named UberJew on Digitalpoint did. Atleast I think he did? I’ve only been in this game for a little under a year now, but from what I’ve learned PR7 sites are hard to come by. I am looking to buy a site, and I wish I would have seen this sale on DigitalPoint. You can view the sale thread here.

Basically, someone sold a PR7 site wordpresstheme.com that makes around $150/mo from selling ad space. The seller put a BIN of only $2,000 !! Doesn’t that seem a little low to anyone else? You could make $1,000 in a month by selling 5-10 Text Links on this site. Put some adsense on there as well and you could be looking at $1,200 a month? And the guy BIN’ed for only $2,000. No doubt he could relist this same site for sale on Sitepoint today and make $10,000+. As UberJew said… you snooze you lose.

Text Links for Sale

I am selling text links on PR4 FightSongLyrics.com for only $20/year. The placement is the left sidebar. I have already sold 2 of them, and only have 8 spots left. If you want one, let me know!

Godaddy Loophole

Thanks to a loophole in the Godaddy checkout (buying domains through their cached pages), I was able to purchase 3 domains last night, and might pick up a few others this afternoon. I am not going to reveal what the domains are just yet until I have the sites up on them. I don’t need any added competition! I can tell you though that one of the sites is like a spinoff of MVP Flix. :-)

Fixing the Blog and Making Sales

First thing I want to say is thanks for the nice comments about my move to wordpress. I know it only took me like a month to do it, but I am finally here. For those of you who had my old feed url, you might need to update it to a new one. I have RSS information in the sidebar.

There’s still one problem I see on my blog now. If you click the October Archive, it doesn’t work. All the other months do, though. I think that I had a folder on my server already called 2006/10 and that I didn’t delete it when I made the move to Wordpress. So Wordpress is probably calling up the wrong folder for that archive. I won’t be able to check it out till I get home from work.

Making a Sale

On Tuesday I was contacted via email about someone wanting to purchase a domain from me. I have never had this happen to me before. And the weird thing about it is he was inquiring about a domain I registered on Monday! I owned the domain less than 24 hours and he wanted it. The buyer mentioned he meant to register the name on Friday, but simply forgot, and by the time he checked again I had already snagged it. A costly mistake on his part.

The domain is Putterswap.com and I sold it to him for $300. I was able to talk him up some after his initial offer. I was very reluctant to let this domain go because I planned on developing it. But, when $300 is staring me in the face just after 24 hours of registering the name for $7.20, I just had to take it. I am only saving $65 of it to reinvest. The rest of the money will go to paying bills (just bought a new couch and loveseat for $1300).

The lesson learned here is never wait on registering a domain. If you find a name you like, splurge on the $7.00 is might cost you and buy it. You just might get lucky. Oh and here’s another reason why I do not like to keep Whois information private. If I was set to private, the buyer never would have been able to contact me.

Lithman.net Header?

Anyone have any ideas for a header I should put on here? I’m thinking something beachy or golf or fishing. Since I live in Florida and enjoy all 3 of those, I thought it would be appropriate… unless some of you want a picture of me up there! (I don’t think so).
